テクニカルイングリッシュセミナー in Vancouver 2019

< Academic English Seminar in UBC９日目> Today, we did preparation for research presentation. We were checked our presentation by John. There were contents checking and introduction ways. We needed to note initial part and intermediate conclusions. We learned these are effective for attention from audiences. So we could sufficiently prepare for our presentation. We try tomorrow presentation. And I prepared for presentation even after school. I went to Tim hortons in UBC. It was very nice space. I prepared there. I want Kumamoto Kosen to install this building and Tim hortons. These are very comfortable and affordable. I’m sure the space make NITK students smarter. Yuta Kawakami 　

8月28, 2019 セミナー8日目。まず、グラフについての問題を解きました。 Today is Day 8. At first, we solved the problems about the graphs.  こんなやつ☝  Such as these graphs そしてQ&Aの質疑応答のステップを学びました。 And we learned the steps of Q & A questions and answers. また、論文などのアブストラクトを書く練習をしました。 Also, we practiced writing abstracts such as papers. 放課後はマックに行きました。 I went to McDonald's after school. 日本ではあまり行かないのに・・・こっちのマックはとっても、とーっても美味しいんです！ Although I don't go there much in Japan ... McDonald's is so delicious in Vancouver! こっちのマックはハンバーガーの中身をカスタマイズすることができます！ In Vancouver, McDonald's can customize the contents of the hamburger! 私はピクルスが大嫌いなので、いつも抜かしています。 I hate pickles so I always remove them. 玉ねぎとトマトは好きなので、毎回増やしています！ I like onions and tomatoes, so I increase them every time! トマトは3枚まで増やすことができました！とても美味しかったです。 I was able to increase the number of tomatoes to 3! 8月27, 2019 こんにちは！熊本高専 八代キャンパスの久保田ゆりかです。 Hello! My name is Yurika Kubota. I'm from National Institute of Technology Kumamoto Collage, Yatsushiro Campus. 今日はセミナー7日目。まず朝からこんなことをしました・・・ Today is Day 7. We did this at first ... Yesterday, we had _____snow at school. _____snow was beautiful. I played in_____ snow with_____ my friends. We built_____ snowman. _____snowman was very _____ tall. _____people watched us built it.  空白に当てはまる冠詞（aやthe）を入れる練習です。みんなスラスラ解けていました！ We practiced putting an article (a or the) that applies to the space. It was easy for us! その後はプレゼンやポスターセッション時のQ&Aの質問の仕方を学びました。 After that, we learned how to ask Q & A questions during presentations and poster sessions.  質問には明確化、確認、情報要求、説明要求、反対尋問の5種類があります。 There are five types of questions: Clarification, Confirmation, Asking for information, Asking for an explanation and cross examination. その使い方を学びました。 And we learned how to use them. そして、放課後はマンゴーパフェを食べ、タピオカミルクティーを飲みました。 After school, I ate

香川高専の寺尾陽子です。 Academic English Seminar in in University of British Colombia 2週目の始まりを報告します。  プレゼンテーションで必要な、質問に対して的確な返答をする、また、値を比較するなど 質問に対する答えを時制に気を付けて回答する(speaking)  ifを使った文章の少しずつ違ったニュアンスを理解し、適切な文章を作る(speaking)  比較級を使って自分の学校とペアの人の学校の規模を比べる(speaking)  NASAが発表している、地球で一人取り残されたときに生き延びるための15個の物資を、必要な順に並べてその理由を述べる(writing)  学校が終わるとMetrotownへお出かけ。 みんなで食べようと思って買ったチーズケーキ。Renが学校に持ってくるときにバスに忘れてしまったので再チャレンジ。焼きたてだったのでRen, Natsuko,私（Haruko）の3人で食べてしまいました。ふわふわで美味しかったです。

8月25日 日曜日を担当します、新居浜高専電子制御工学科5年平井菜津子です。  バンクーバーに来て初めての週末です。一週間が経ちこちらの生活や文化にも少しずつ慣れてきました。今日は朝Canada Placeに集合してCapilano Suspension Bridgeに行ってきました。 吊り橋はすごく高くてたくさん観光客がいたためすごく揺れて、高所恐怖症の私にはハードだったけれど景色がすごくきれいでした。 橋を渡り終えて地図を見ながら森の中を散策しました。中にも小さなつり橋がいくつもあり、自然の中の迷路のようでした。 Capilano Suspension Bridgeの帰りにお米が恋しくなってダウンタウンにある日本食屋さんに行きました。まだカナダに来て一週間ですが。（笑）  来週はいよいよ本格的にプレゼンテーションの勉強が始まり週末にはプレゼンテーションとポスターセッションがあります。 カナダを満喫しつつ、しっかりと学んで充実した時間を過ごせるようにします。 Capilano Suspension Bridgeの入り口で記念撮影 　

Academic English Seminar in University of British Colombia 、5日目です。 今日は、基本的なプレゼンやabstractに必要な文法表現について学びました。     きたないノートですが、こんな感じでやってます笑。 内容はlinking language とかとか、、、 宿題はエッセイを書いてくるという、2日間休みがあるようで無いような課題でした。。。 授業は15時まで。 宿題のことは忘れて、ここから花金です笑。 本日の放課後は、バンクーバー発祥の地“ガスタウン”に行ってきました！ 街並みが本当に洒落てて、その世界観に飲み込まれます笑 「おれ、海外来ちゃったんだな的な笑」 　  あいにく持ってきた一眼レフはホームステイ先に置いてきてしまったので、、、  あいふぉんですが。 もう一個の写真は友達のぎゃらくしーの一枚。  綺麗な街でした。 課題頑張りたいと思います！ Ren
